Sarah Frances "Betty" Keever (Scarboro)'s Obituary
Sarah “Betty” Scarboro Keever, 91, formerly of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton following a brief illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Pittman will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Saturday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Born in Cabarrus County, she had lived until the last few years in Kannapolis. She graduated from J.W. Cannon High School and worked in the sheet department at Cannon Mills until the early 1960s and then was a homemaker, wife, mother and unselfish caregiver. A lifelong Presbyterian, she attended First Presbyterian Church and Royal Oaks Presbyterian in Kannapolis and most recently Warsaw Presbyterian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Hubert H. Keever; and four siblings, Clyde, Jack, Virginia and Myra Scarboro.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan Keever Searles and husband, Al, and two grandchildren, A.J. and Emily Searles, all of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank caregivers Sandra Herring and Debbie Wilson for their compassion and support.
