Remembering with love my mother, Sarah Louise Crainshaw (October 14, 1934 - May 19, 2017). I am grateful for the amazing care she received in recent months from Nicole Trowell, from Heritage Woods caregivers and the staff of Winston-Salem Hospice and Palliative care. Seeing how their hands and hearts held her with love and compassion and how she trusted them, as she said, "to keep me from falling," has given me renewed hope in the life-transforming possibilities of human community. I am also grateful to have had the chance as a daughter to take on this part of life's journey with such a courageous and resilient woman. Mom, you persisted. Rest now in God's grace and peace.
