Sarah Jean Mullis Tucker's Obituary
Rev. Sarah Jean Mullis Tucker, 77, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at home in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, June 16, 2023, at Zion Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Williams and Rev. Daniel McClamrock will officiate. Interment will follow at Zion Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9:00 pm Thursday at Zion Freewill Baptist Church.
Rev. Tucker was born May 7, 1946 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Joe Mullis and Maggie O'Neal Mullis. She was the Pastor of Zion Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Vaudry Ellis Tucker, Sr.; son, Vaudry Ellis Tucker, Jr.; three sisters, Mable Morris, Martha Mullis, and Joann Bowman; and two brothers, Walt O'Neal, and Sonny Mullis.
Rev. Tucker is survived by daughter, Wanda Tucker; son, Randy Tucker and wife Elaine, both of Kannapolis; two sisters, Kay Gearing of Kannapolis, and Betty Crowly of Concord; brother, Jerry Mullis of Locust; four grandchildren, Donnie Milam, Brandi Hodge, Edward Tucker, and Andy Tucker and wife Amber; eight great grandchildren, Jason, Christian, Caleb, Chloe, Matthew, Clay, Ariel, and Joyci; and the church that she loved dearly.
