Savilla M. James' Obituary
Ms. Savilla M. James, 64, of 649 Locust Street, Kannapolis, died Sunday, November 16, 2003, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at Homestead Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Brown and Mr. Charles Farabee will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of her mother, Kathleen Steele, 213 West 22nd Street, Kannapolis.
Born October 19, 1939, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of Kathleen Booe Steele of Kannapolis and the late Garland E. Lawing. She was a member of Homestead Baptist Church and formerly worked in the sheet department at Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis.
Survivors in addition to her mother include a daughter, Terri Eldreth and her husband, Tommy, of Salisbury; a son, Dirk James and his wife, Lesia, of Kannapolis; a step-sister, Sylvia Hill and her husband, Randy, of Kannapolis; a half-brother, David Lawing; her step-mother, Mary Lee Lawing of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Chris Crayton and his fianc , Amber Hoyle, of Salisbury, Travis Shuping of Miami, Florida and Matthew James of Kannapolis; and two great-grandchildren, Kaira Crayton and Kalista Hoyle, both of Salisbury.
