Sherry Jean Bennick Benfield's Obituary
Mrs. Sherry Jean Bennick Benfield, 71, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, April 18, 2025, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dean Hunter and Rev. George Terpenning will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Benfield was born August 24, 1953 in Concord. She was a daughter of the late Grady Bennick and Nell Williamson Bennick. She was a Graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School, Class of 1971. A member of Central Baptist Church, Mrs. Benfield was active in Sunday School and decorating the church for Christmas. She worked as a housekeeper for Wesbury and Plaza Independent Living Center. Sherry also enjoyed flower gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Lane Benfield; and a brother, Grady Bennick, Jr.
Mrs. Benfield is survived by her husband, Ned Benfield of Kannapolis; two sons, Justin Benfield and wife Michelle of Kannapolis and Brian Benfield and wife Shannon of Albemarle; sister, Linda McDonald and husband Allen of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Don Bennick of Mooresville; sister-in-law, Rene Bennick; four grandchildren, Ryan, Kenaniah, Gracie, and Harrison; and three great grandchildren, Letty, Brantley, and Wyatt.
