Stephen Collins Foster's Obituary
Mr. Stephen Collins Foster, 82, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3:30 pm Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Central Baptist Church. Rev. Dean Hunter and Rev. Curtis Parker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:15 pm Saturday at the church.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date with Military Honors at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
Mr. Foster was born July 29, 1938 in Rowan County. He was a son of the late James Ray Foster and Lula Belle Armes Foster. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served from 1957- 1960. He also served as a NC State Trooper in Gaston County and later worked for Johnson Motor Lines and IBM. He most recently worked at the NC Research Campus in Kannapolis as a Security Guard. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Steve enjoyed gardening and cutting wood, and singing in the church choir.
Mr. Foster is survived by his wife, Dottie Lane Fisher Foster; daughter, Kim Gobble (Shane) of Kannapolis; three sons, Anthony Blair Foster (Christy) of Mooresville, Stephen Douglas Foster (Jennifer) of Salisbury, Joseph Foster (Christy) of Kannapolis; two brothers, David Foster (Charlene) and Gradon Foster (Dianne), all of China Grove; nine grandchildren, Zander Foster, Chris (Morgan) Foster, Andrew (Madison) Foster Senior Airman, Ally Foster, Amanda Foster, Angie Cress, Savannah Goble, Jeremy Basinger and Matthew Basinger; and six great grandchildren, Whitney Gibson, Jesica Cress, Mattison Cress, Jadyn Cress, Kenlynn Basinger and Brayden Basinger.
