Thelma Blackwelder's Obituary
Mrs. Thelma Johnson Blackwelder, 88, formerly of Concord, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at Salisbury Gardens.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Daniel H. Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Wednesday, prior to the service, at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blackwelder was born on June 12, 1924 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Smiley Arthur Johnson and Aggie Nora Cole Johnson. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jake Johnson, Arthur “Pete” Johnson and George Johnson.
Mrs. Blackwelder is survived by two sons, David Blackwelder and wife Sheila and Dennis Blackwelder and wife Margaret, both of Kannapolis; brother, Marvin Eugene Johnson and wife Juanita of Salisbury; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
