Concord
Mrs. Thelma Viola Fink Richardson, 91, formerly of South Cannon Blvd, went home to be with The Lord Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Morningside Assisted Living in Concord.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, February 24, 2012, on what would have been her 92nd birthday at Memorial Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Rev. Tim McQueen and Rev. Don Davis will officiate. The body will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Richardson was born February 24, 1920 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Henry Michael Fink and Ila Wentz Fink. She graduated from Cannon High School. Prior to being owner and operator of Jo-Net Beauty Salon, she worked at Terry Products. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where she was a church nursery teacher for over 30 years and styled and washed the hair of the many shut-ins she visited.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thermon L. Richardson; four sisters, Ceola F. Carter, Mary Eugene F. Loftis, Katharine F. Riner and Agnes Fink; five brothers, Harold, Lee, Roy, Floyd and Parks Fink.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by two daughters, Jan Biggerstaff and husband Charles of Wilmington and Joan Godwin of China Grove; brother, Charles Fink and wife Betty of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Mande Barden and husband Chris of Wilmington, Kelly Goodman and husband Gordon of Kannapolis and Chad Biggerstaff and wife Julie of Wilmington; three great grandchildren, Laney Biggerstaff, Charlee Biggerstaff and Hayes Barden; and many nieces and nephews.
Our family wants to publicly thank the wonderful caregivers of Morningside Assisted Living and especially her precious hospice nurse, Tinky Whittington.
Mother/Nana, you will be dearly missed here on this earth, but we are rejoicing with you that you are in your Heavenly Home.
