Thomas Floyd Foil's Obituary
Mr. Thomas Floyd Foil, 86, of 10104 Old Beatty Ford Road, Rockwell, and formerly of Pine Street in Kannapolis, died Wednesday, January 22, 2003, at the Brian Center in Salisbury.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2003, at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church in Kannapolis. The Rev. Richard A. Rhoades and Rev. Hoke H. Ritchie will officiate. Interment will follow at Kannapolis Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. At other times they will be at their respective homes.
Born October 7, 1916, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late William Monroe Foil and the Ella Jeanette Hodge Foil. He retired several years ago from Chemspun Mills in Mooresville. Mr. Foil was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church where he was active in the choir for many years. His wife, Edna Grooms Foil, preceded him in death in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Edward Foil of Mocksville; two daughters, Rebecca Anderson of Rockwell and Janice Brown of Fairview; a brother, Frank Foil of Kannapolis; ten grandchildren, including Sissy McRorie and Arthur T, Hearne, who grew up in his home; 14 great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
