Timothy Joe "Timmy" Blackwelder's Obituary
Mr. Timothy “Timmy” Joe Blackwelder, 62, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014, at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Greg Sloop will officiate. A family graveside service will be held at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 6:45 pm Tuesday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Timmy was born on January 4, 1952 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late James Pinkney Blackwelder, Sr., and Margaret Louise Hathcock Blackwelder. He retired after thirty-five years as a mechanic for R.S. Braswell Company. Timmy attended the Kannapolis Church of God. He enjoyed Bluegrass music, having played in the Midway Band. Timmy enjoyed the outdoors, especially spending time on the farm working with his tractor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, James ‘Bugsy” Blackwelder, James Clay Blackwelder and Pinkney Ray Blackwelder.
Timmy is survived by his wife, Linda Gail Frady Blackwelder; step-son, Donald Grady Earnhardt of Kannapolis; three sisters, Rachel “Susie” Moore of Concord, Kaleen Shaver of Mt. Pleasant and Dianne Parker of Concord; brother, Terry Blackwelder of Rockwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
