Toledo D. Barnhardt's Obituary
Mr. Toledo D. "Toad" Barnhardt, 85, of 4777 Old Salisbury Concord Road, Kannapolis, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. Rev. Evelyn Browning and Rev. Marion Fulk will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 PM Monday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Mr. Barnhardt.
Mr. Barnhardt was born November 20, 1917 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Millard Komechia Barnhardt and Ollie Mae Long Barnhardt. He was a machinist with Perfecting Service of Charlotte. He was a member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Marshall Barnhardt.
Mr. Barnhardt is survived by a daughter, Sonjia B. McHone of Salisbury; a son, Larry Michael Barnhardt of Kannapolis; two sisters, Ruth Taylor of Concord and Helen Todd of Charlottesville, VA; half-sister, Patricia Roach of Kannapolis; three brothers, Harry and Carl Barnhardt, both of Concord and Malcolm Barnhardt of Kannapolis; half-brother, Charles Barnhardt of Concord; two grandchildren, Rozalyn B. Abernathy and Michael Shane Barnhardt; and one great grandchild, Sydni Abernathy.
