Velma Mae Bolick Story's Obituary
Mrs. Velma Mae Bolick Story, 98, of 120 Newell Avenue, Kannapolis, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Charles Savage and the Rev. Jim Brookshire will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home.
Born April 17, 1912 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Story was the daughter of the late Anthony David Bolick and Dovie Ann Bolick. She was retired from the No. 7 Spinning Room of Cannon Mills, Plant One. She was of the Nazarene faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Story; a daughter, Nellie Story James; three sons, Brice Story, Leonard Story and Russell Story; two sisters, Lula Bolick and Nevie Bolick Price; and a brother, Howard Bolick.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail S. Wilhelm and Louise S. Parrish and husband, Jim, of Kannapolis; two sons, Wade David Storey and C.V. Story, both of Kannapolis; a sister, Emmie B. Hollars of Lenoir; 30 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Westside Church of the Nazarene, 4700 Isenhour Road, Kannapolis NC 28081.
