Venetia Steele's Obituary
Mrs. Venetia Fowler Steele, 89, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Avante at Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Barnhill and Rev. Ralph Adams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Steele was born January 2, 1926 in Franklin County, GA. She was a daughter of the late William Lee Fowler and Estie Jordan Fowler. She was a graduate of Corriher-Lipe High School in Landis. She worked in the #7 weave room of Cannon Mills and later worked at McKnight Child Development Center. Venetia was a member of Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a longtime Sunday school teacher and a Prayer Warrior.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Roy Steele; three sisters, Ada Irelle Wilkinson, Vera Allene Smith and Fannie Carter; and four brothers, Alfred Fowler, Edward Fowler, Jessie Fowler, and William Fowler.
Mrs. Steele is survived by her son, Charles M. “Mike” Steele and wife Susan of Kannapolis; two sisters, Joyce Parson of Kannapolis and Virginia Stickler and husband Don of China Grove; two grandchildren, Virginia “Ginny” Yost and husband Steven of Mt. Pleasant and David Michael Steele of Kannapolis; and a great grandson Joshua Caleb Morrison of Kannapolis.
