Verlie Munday Sherrill's Obituary
Mrs. Verlie Munday Sherrill, 88, of 318 Main Street, NW, Lenoir, and formerly of South Main Street, Kannapolis and Bishop Lane in Concord, died Sunday, March 21, 2004 at Caldwell County Hospice.
A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Concord. The Rev. Jim Bowen and the Dr. Garret Dawson will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the service in the memorial hall at the church. At other times they will be at their respective homes.
Born May 10, 1915, in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late Grover Munday and Ella Arthurs Munday. She retired several years ago from Cannon Mills, Plant Four. She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Macy Everett Sherrill, who died January 28, 1982; a sister, Faye Harrington; and two brothers, Manley Munday and Robert Munday.
Survivors include a son, Ronald D. Sherrill of Kannapolis; two daughters, Becky Stevens of Lenoir and Judy Black of Lexington; two sisters, Virginia Munday Rodgers of Kannapolis and Era Munday Wright of Madison, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Dr. T. Micheal Sherrill of Concord, David E. Sherrill of Greensboro, Nicole Sherrill Motley of Concord, Leigh Ann Black Myers of Lexington, Caroline Black Bowen and Jacqueline Black Lockemy, both of Kernersville, Amelia Stevens of Celo and Rebecca Stevens of Greensboro; and eight great-grandchildren.
