Waltraud Ruth Buettner Crump's Obituary
Waltraud Ruth Buettner Crump, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 after a long battle with dementia.
Ruth was born in Berlin Germany, during WWII, on February 14th, 1935. As a young child, life was difficult living in a war zone, and she lost her father, grandfather, grandmother and many others during that time. Only her mother, aunt and herself made it out safely. In the 1950’s they migrated to America, and she raised her family in Stanley, NC.
She was best known for her German influenced cooking and her love of plants and gardening. She had an incredible green thumb and kept a large garden in her yard.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Sabina Johnson, daughter Anita Taylor-Dye and her husband, DW, son Detlef Taylor and his wife, Andrea Taylor. Granddaughter, Tiffany Smith and husband Charlie, Grandson, Travis Taylor and wife Rebekah, Grandson, Dirk Taylor, Granddaughter, Alyssa Taylor, Grandson, Dean Taylor and 8 great grandchildren.
