Wanda Smith Newton's Obituary
Mrs. Wanda Smith Newton, 54, of 2719 US Highway 601 South, Mocksville, and formerly of Concord, died Friday, April 23, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, at West Concord Cemetery in Concord. The Rev. Otis L. Snow, pastor of Memorial United Methodist Church in Kannapolis will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the residence follow the service.
Born January 31, 1950, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of Ethel Reid Smith of Concord and the late Clarence Smith. She was a truck driver from V. F. Jeanswear of Greenville, SC. She had lived in Mocksville for 12 years and attended Memorial United Methodist Church in Kannapolis. She was a former president of the Davie County School Bus Association.
Survivors include her husband, Dewey L. Newton of the home; a son, Christopher Lee Newton and his wife, Annette, of Mocksville; a daughter, Leslie D. Davis of Mocksville; her mother, Ethel Reid Smith of Concord; a brother, Tom Smith of Concord and his fianc , Debra Rowles of Kannapolis; and two grandchildren, T. J. Davis and Brittney Newton.
