William David Caldwell's Obituary
William David Caldwell, 54, of Bryson City, and formerly of Concord, died Monday, December 29, 2008, at Swain County Hospital in Bryson City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Wes Judy will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times, they will be at their respective homes.
Born January 16, 1954 in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of William "Bill" Caldwell and the late Virginia Smith Caldwell. He retired as a computer graphic artist with Duke Energy in Charlotte. A Boy Scout leader for many years, he formerly attended Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Laneece Goodnight Caldwell of the home; daughter, Candice Caldwell of Asheville; father, William "Bill" Caldwell of Kannapolis; sisters, Beth Welch and Alice Leonard, both of Concord; mother-in-law, Marie Goodnight of Concord; sister-in-law, Marsha Weaver of Venice, FL; nieces, Lauren Welch, Anna Welch and Nicolette Barbee, all of Concord; and three nephews, Matthew Barbee of Concord, Jason Weaver of Venice, FL and Mark Weaver of Sarasota, FL.
