William Edward Faggart's Obituary
Mr. William Edward Faggart, 80, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the W. G. Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Phaniels Baptist Church where he was a lifelong member. Rev. Mike Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow at Phaniels Baptist Church Cemetery in Rockwell with full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 pm Thursday at Phaniels Baptist Church.
Mr. Faggart was born December 8, 1931 in Rockwell. He was a son of the late William Harold Faggart and Lela Inez Drye Faggart. He worked for Cannon Mills Plant #1 as a machine fixer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served on the USS Yorktown during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special uncle, Joe Drye.
Mr. Faggart is survived by his wife, Elora "Jean" Sweatt Faggart; sons, Bryan Faggart and his wife, Judy of Mebane, Brent Faggart and his wife, Deana of Raleigh and Sterling Faggart of Concord; sisters, Dot Freeman and Diane Murph both of Kannapolis; brother, Wayne Faggart of Mooresville; grandchildren, Meredith Faggart, Evan Hambrick and Aiden Hambrick.
Memorials may be made to Phaniels Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 2685 Phaniel Church Road, Rockwell, NC 28138.
