William G. McTigue's Obituary
Mr. William Gerard McTigue, 74, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis after a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service is scheduled for 5:00 pm Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. McTigue was born July 2, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of the late William A. McTigue and Agnes McVeigh McTigue. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was retired from the US Army Reserves. Mr. McTigue resided in upstate New York before retiring to North Carolina. He worked as a security officer for Allied Barton at Wachovia. He was a member of the Clifton Park Elks #2466 in Clifton Park, NY, the American Legion and the DAV.
Mr. McTigue is survived by his wife, Barbara Coleman McTigue; daughter, Dr. Maureen McTigue-Etzrodt and husband, Michael of Ridgewood, NJ; four sons, Michael Williams and wife, Samantha of Manassas, VA, Greg McTigue and wife, Patricia of Concord, William G. McTigue, Jr. and wife, Trisha of Maywood, NJ and Jeffrey McTigue and wife, Gina of Freehold, NJ; sister, Maureen Schwarz and husband Dr. Henry Schwarz of Lakewood, NJ; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Jake, Madison, Grace, Olivia, Devon, Derek and Avery; several nieces and nephews and many very special friends.
