Woodrow Wilson Gainey's Obituary
Mr. Woodrow Wilson Gainey, 86, a resident of Big Elm Nursing Center, and formerly of Locust Street in Kannapolis, died Monday, September 23, 2002, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, September 26, 2002, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeff Upright and Rev. Tim Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 PM Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of a sister, Maggie Jackson, 303 Bethpage Road in Kannapolis.
Mr. Gainey was born August 29, 1916, in Chesterfield County, SC. He was a son of the late William "Bill" Gainey and Margaret Brown Gainey. He was a retired farmer and employee of Cannon Mills. He was a member of God's Church of Faith.
Mr. Gainey, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Bryant Gainey, on March 30, 1987, and two brothers, Carson Gainey, Colie Gainey, and two sisters, Lilly Dixon and Fannie Gainey Dozier.
Mr. Gainey is survivored by his sister, Mrs. Maggie Gainey Jackson of Kannapolis; and a number of nieces and nephews.
