Worley Lane Stribling's Obituary
Lane Stribling, 70, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, at Tucker Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Leigh will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:45 pm Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Lane was born on March 16, 1945 in Salisbury. He was a son of the late Worley Lane Stribling, Sr. and Grace Rachel Campbell Stribling. He graduated from A.L. Brown High School, class of 1963. Lane loved A.L. Brown football for many years and operated the kannapolisfootball.com website as long as his health permitted. Lane retired from the cutting room of Cannon Mills where he worked as a checker. Lane was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing of all types and spending time at the beach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jeanette Hunter, Roberta Esser and Carolyn Garmon.
Lane is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Stribling; three sons, Chris Stribling and Matthew Stribling, both of Kannapolis and Jeff Stribling and wife, Jennifer, of Charlotte; two sisters, Helen Ross and Flora Reid, both of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Johnathon Stribling; and his “therapy” dog, Flicka.
