Wynona Fink Levay's Obituary
Mrs. Wynona Fink Leyva, 74, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, November 11, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Father Joseph Dionne, C.Ss.R. will officiate. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery in Concord.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Leyva was born September 9, 1937 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Carl Sylvester Fink and Beatrice Moore Fink. She worked formerly as an operator with Concord Telephone Company, as an Innkeeper at Holiday Inn in Concord and retired from Belk Department Store.
Mrs. Leyva was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church. She was valedictorian at Winecoff High School, class of 1955. She was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Valez Leyva; son, Jeffrey Carl Burnette; sister, Carlene Barnhardt and nephews, Carl Lee Barnhardt and Olin Spencer Barnhardt.
Mrs. Leyva is survived by step-children, Jessica Limon, Yvette White and Joseph Henry Leyva all of California; sister, Melanie Fink Fortner and husband Ken of Concord; brother-in-law, Archie Barnhardt of Concord; nieces, Denise Sedberry and husband David, Lori Mosley and husband Doug, Lisa Furr and husband Jeff and Cindy Hatley Barnhardt and nephew, Michael Kenneth Fortner and wife Melanie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Victory Junction, 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
