April, or Queen, as referred to by her friends, was born March 28, 1971, in Cabarrus County, NC. She was the daughter of John Stephen Litaker and Kay Millis Litaker. April was a 1989 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, in Kannapolis. She was a graduate of Queens College, Charlotte, NC with a degree in Fashion Design and Caldwell Community College, Hudson, NC with a degree in Xray Technology. April was a valued associate of Atrium Health, Inc. She was a Pharmacy Technician who was loved by everyone she encountered, both colleagues and clients. She never met a stranger and made new friends everywhere she went. During a whirlwind trip to Europe last year, she shared her beautiful smile and charmed people from busy airports and train stations to rolling countrysides in Scotland, England, Belgium, Amsterdam and Germany. April’s favorite place was in the sun on a sandy beach with friends and family, a favorite beverage, and good music.
She had the most beautiful sparkling blue eyes that immediately caused others to be drawn to her. April was a very special lady who was inclusive of everyone, and her motto was always, “the more, the merrier!”
In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Darrell Phillips, Jr., Davidson; her son, Xander Hatfield of Davidson/Concord; step-daughter, Sierra Phillips, San Diego, CA; brother, Chris Litaker, Kannapolis; and nephew, Bexley Litaker, Kannapolis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in April’s memory to a Breast Cancer charity of your choice.
