Bobby Glenn Bost's Obituary
Mr. Bobby Glenn Bost of Kannapolis, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Hospice House.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Charity Baptist Church. Dr. R. J. Hammond, Dr. Garland Faw and the Reverends Gene Beaver, Ron Bushey, Marty Payton and Don DeGrate will officiate. Entombment will be at a later date at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will greet friends in the sanctuary following the service. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Born in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Otha Grant Bost and Gertrude Roxanne Nance Bost. His home church was Elm Street Church of God, now West A Church of God. A graduate of Landis High School, he also graduated from Pfeiffer College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Economics. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he was an entertainment specialist and a member of the U.S. Air Force Band. After receiving an honorable discharge, he joined Cannon Mills/Fieldcrest Cannon, where he became a department manager in inventory control.
Bob also served as minister of music in several churches in the area, including Calvary Baptist Church, Truth Temple for over 25 years, and First Foursquare, now Grace Covenant. For the past seven years, he served as orchestra director at Charity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Smith Bost; son, Mel G. Bost of Kannapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Donald (Joan) Powers of Charlotte, Mrs. Mickey (Wanda) Greene of Myrtle Beach, SC and Mrs. Kenneth (Nancy) Barnes of Landis; and his two special girls, which he loved immensely, Sasha and China.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Andrea Allen, Hospice nurse Amy Beaver and the entire staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, for the love, care and compassion shown to them during this time. They also thank a niece, Sharon Powell, who has been a tremendous help and given much support.
Devoted to his family, surrendered to the Lordship of his God, having employed his academic skills with integrity and having used his giftedness to advance the kingdom of God, our loved one, Bobby Bost, leaves his family and our community an example of how to live a lifestyle that honors and pleases God. His lifestyle reflects obedience to God's Word, humility of heart, devotion, compassion, sincerity, favor with God and man. Challenged we are by his example and grateful to have been his son, wife and friend. Having entered into the presence of God for all eternity, he remains in our hearts.
