Flora Cecelia Hartsell Nashif's Obituary
Mrs. Flora Hartsell Nashif, 83, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday at Roberta Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Pennington will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 pm at Roberta Baptist Church prior to the service.
Mrs. Nashif was born April 1, 1935 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Roy B. Hartsell and the late Ruby Morris Hartsell Adams.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adeeb Nashif, in November 2014.
Mrs. Nashif graduated from Odell High School in 1953 and went on to graduate from Appalachian State Teachers College in 1956. Following her graduation, she taught at Winecoff Elementary School and later taught and retired from A.T. Allen Elementary School in Concord, where she had worked as a teacher and librarian. She was a member of Roberta Baptist Church, where she had served for a number of years as the church secretary/treasurer.
Mrs. Nashif is survived by a son, Kenneth David Nashif of Concord; a daughter, Anne-Marie Chenault of Concord; a sister, Opal H. Parks and husband Kenneth of Gastonia; a brother, Roy B. Hartsell, Jr. and wife Ramelle of Concord; three grandchildren, Beth Assessor and husband Tom, Wendy Brafford, and Edward Nelson and wife Kashea; six great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
