Florene Moore's Obituary
Mrs. Florene Lutz Moore, 92, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 526 Wright Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083. Rev. Jim Grigg, church pastor, Rev. Jasen Kirkman, her grandson and Mr. Norman Snodderly, church deacon, will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:15 Saturday at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Moore was born on June 2, 1920 in Catawba County. She was a daughter of the late Jacob A. Lutz and Ida Elizabeth McGill Lutz. Mrs. Moore graduated from Appalachian State Teacher's College in 1943 and later received her master�s degree in elementary education. She taught in the Caldwell County Schools from 9/1/1943 to 6/1/1946. Mrs. Moore taught in the Kannapolis City Schools system from 6/1/1946 to 7/1/1982 at which time she retired from Woodrow Wilson Elementary School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Clarence Moore; two brothers, Fulton Lutz and Jacob Lutz; three sisters, Annie Herndon, Mary Lutz and Clara Little.
Mrs. Moore is survived by five children, Zackie L. Moore, Carlos J. Moore, Susan Moore Compton and husband Dennis, Jann Moore Kirkman and husband Johnney and Marc A. Moore, all of Kannapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Bowman and Mrs. Martha Sigmon, both of Newton; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and 19 nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Home NSTEAD caregivers and the Tucker Hospice House staff for the compassion and care given to Mrs. Moore during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Franklin Heights Baptist Church or Franklin Heights Christian Academy, 526 Wright Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
