Glenn Edward Jenkins' Obituary
Glenn Edward Jenkins, 100, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Big Elm Nursing Center.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roger Bostic and Rev. Joel Ervin will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3:00 pm Saturday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Jenkins was born on January 1, 1915 in Elberton County, GA. He was the son of Henry Jenkins and Margaret Susan Nance Jenkins. He worked for over 50 years in the #2 weave room of Cannon Mills Plant 1. Mr. Jenkins was a lifelong member of North Kannapolis Methodist. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Boy Scout Award and a 60 years of service pin.
In addition to his parents, his was predeceased by his first wife, Esther Foster Jenkins; second wife, Lucille Brown Jenkins; and grandson, Ira Marlow.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by two children, Coite E. Jenkins and wife, Kathy, of Kannapolis and Phyllis J. Marlow, of China Grove; and two grandson, Michael Jenkins and Scott Jenkins.
The family would like to thank the Big Elm Nursing Center staff for the care of Mr. Jenkins and also his special caring niece, Kathy Wright.
