Henry Valez Leyva's Obituary
Mr. Henry Valez Leyva, 86, of 1670 Michelle Drive, Kannapolis, died Monday April 23, 2007 at his home.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. James Catholic Church, Concord at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow in the St. James Catholic Cemetery. The Rev. James Geiger, C.Ss.R. will officiate.
A Rosary service will be conducted at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 6:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends following the service.
Mr. Leyva was born in Bisbee, AZ on July 24, 1920, a son of the late, Phillip Leyva and Carman Valez Leyva. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. During World War II he served in the US Army and then worked until his retirement as an electrical engineer with the US Government.
Survivors include his wife, Wynona Fink Leyva; two daughters, Jessica Limon of Los Angeles, CA and Yvette White of Half Moon Bay, CA; a son, Joseph Henry Leyva of Upland, CA; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar Leyva of San Jose, CA; and a sister, Carman Davies.
