Jim was such a beautiful example of God. He loved praying with others especially for salvation.

What a friend we had in Jim Harvey and Jesus. He emulated Jesus in his every action. I served with Jim for two years at the Corner field Market. What an honor it was. I’m so sorry to hear today of his passing. My heart is saddened for not spending more time with him. I know he’s celebrating now and will be there to greet us. Well done good and faithful servant. Well done. Judy and family big hugs to you. 🕊️❤️
So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. There wasn't a nicer man than he was. He always had a smile and made you feel welcome. Now he is at the feet of Jesus. Well done good and faithful servant. Thank you for making us feel welcome at church. RIP you will be so missed. Judy, our hearts are with you and your family.
I met Jim back in 1973 while working at Cannon Mills sheet distribution center. As a new employee I was introduced to Jim by a supervisor. At that time everyone called Jim "Yank," because he was from New York. But you could tell, for the fellow workers, it was a term of endearment. Everyone got along with Jim. He has a very friendly personality and was a hard worker.
A short time after I began work there I started a Bible study during our lunch break. Jim and I were able to talk quite a bit about how to study the Bible, and we spoke at length concerning salvation. Jim wanted to know more and more, like a sponge soaking up every word.
One day, after a weekend off, I came into work, and "Yank" came literally running up to me, yelling out, "Gary, I have some great news, man! With that he gave me a big bear hug (which you just didn't see in those days) and, with tears in his eyes, told me the wonderful news that he had invited Jesus Christ into his heart! We both hugged again and thanked God for His tender mercies. From that time on Jim was a regular attendee to the Bible study group. He also began to show one of the gifts God had given him. Jim could SING! He often sang hymns as we worked, and over time I saw him mature in his walk with the lord and in his love for his fellow man. He spoke often of his love for Judy; and my wife, Debbie and I, were able to meet Judy as we were invited to their home. Their love and dedication to each other (and to their children) was apparent. Also their love and dedication to their church and the youth of the church was known by all who know them.
Jim and Judy have been great friends now for many years. WE have watched his family grow, seen them go through many trials, and have seen their spiritual life truly blossom as their faith strengthened. When we learned of Jim's passing it took us a little off guard, but knowing where he is now took away a great portion of sadness. We can almost hear him singing in that Heavenly Choir!
Mr. Jim was such a blessing to our family during our years at CFA. Our daughters Amy and Allyson are part of the legacy of Judy and him in their joyful work with kids. May God bless and comfort all of the family.
I enjoyed hearing his mellow low bass voice for several years in the Potters Quartet
