James Paul Harvey's Obituary
Mr. James "Jim" Paul Harvey, 79, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 pm Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Multiply Church, Suite 15. A memorial service with military honors is scheduled for 3:00 pm at Multiply Church, Suite 15. Rev. Doug Witherup and Pastor Justin Simpson will officiate. The service will be live streamed by Multiply Church on Facebook. A private interment will be at a later date at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury.
Mr. Harvey was born January 24, 1942 in Batavia, NY. He was a son of the late Paul James Harvey and Bernadine Rice Harvey. He was a member of Multiply Church (formerly Concord First Assembly Worship Center). Jim served with Judy for 26 years as children's pastors at the church. He also served as music leader for the children's ministry and as chapel leader for the Concord Academy for many years. He was the bass singer for the quartet at the church as well. Jim was a prayer counselor for Cornerfield Market for over two years. He was a father and grandfather figure to many. His children considered him the sweetest, most loving father, and they knew that he prayed for them daily. Jim will be remembered by family and friends for his bright smile and Godly spirit.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Douglas Allen Harvey.
Mr. Harvey is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith Marie Ledbetter Harvey; four children, Kelley Harvey (Elizabeth Sue) and Michael Harvey, both of Concord and Todd Harvey (Jonnie) and Charles Harvey (Christine), both of Kannapolis; two sisters, Judy Chatwin Schrader and husband Bill of Missouri and Emily Manning of Texas; six grandchildren, Nikki Yandle (Boone), Chase Little (Crystal) and Kory Little (Kera), all of Concord and Sierra Harvey, Holiday Harvey and Jeremiah Harvey, all of Kannapolis; and six great grandchildren.
