Lorene Hooper's Obituary
Mrs. Lorene Wyatt Hooper, 91, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Genesis ElderCare of Mooresville.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 pm Friday, May 9, 2014, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Wayne Watson and Rev. Roger Bostic will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:15 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hooper was born February 20, 1923 in Kannapolis. She was a daughter of the late W.W. Wyatt and Iola Link Wyatt. She retired from the finishing department of Cannon Mills after 50 years of service. Lorene was a member of Elwood Lane Freewill Baptist Church and was active in the women’s group and senior citizens group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ollie Hooper; sister, Mildred W. Hardy; and four brothers, James Wyatt, Herman Wyatt, Brad Wyatt and Gene Wyatt.
Mrs. Hooper is survived by her daughter, Cathy H. Steed and husband Michael of Mt. Ulla; sister, Joyce W. Bowlin of Kannapolis; brother, Norris Wyatt of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Stefanie B. Clanton and husband Monty and Evan Brannon and wife Heather, all of Mooresville; and one great grandchild, Cody Clanton of Mooresville.
