Lucile Vannoy Adams' Obituary
Mrs. Lucile Vannoy Adams, 95, formerly of 2104 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord, Monday evening, December 7, 2009. Mrs. Adams had a been a resident of Magnolia Place Nursing Home, Greenville, SC since August of 2009 to be closer to her daughter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. At other times, they will be at the Kannapolis home, 2104 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kannapolis.
Born June 3, 1914, in Wilkes County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Maggie Wilcox Vannoy. Lucile retired from Cabarrus Memorial Hospital in 1980 where she was a nursing assistant for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Adams; sisters, Patricia Gunnell, Maggie Fox and Peggy Kilby; and a brother, Johnny Vannoy.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lee Mullis of Greer, SC; son, Marvin Adams and wife, Jane, of Myrtle Beach, SC; four sisters, Frances Shutt and husband John of Raleigh, Betty Trent of Columbia, SC, Alice Dillard and husband Buck of Millers Creek, Ikey Brown of North Wilkesboro; a special granddaughter, Connie Brown of Kannapolis, with whom she made her home until her move to Greenville; grandson, Lee Adams of Salisbury; two step-grandsons, Danny Mullis and wife, Margaret, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Keith Mullis of Gastonia; two step-granddaughters, Jody White and husband Lloyd of Gastonia, DeeDee Kreisher and husband Mark of Simpsonville, SC; one great-granddaughter; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Grand-dogs, Thelma Jane and Abigail Brown will be waiting at the Bridge to see Maw Maw.
Lucile had many wonderful friends, never met a stranger and loved everyone. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
