Ralph Thomas Kilby Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Ralph Thomas Kilby, Sr., 87, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Carolinas Healthcare System - NorthEast in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, March 17, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Herman Absher will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Kilby was born November 27, 1929 in Dunham, KY. He was one of four children of the late James Guy Kilby and Annie Elledge Kilby. Mr. Kilby grew up in the Baptist Home Church in North Wilkesboro. He was a graduate of North Wilkesboro High School. Mr. Kilby retired from Ben Mynatt Chevrolet in Concord after 42 years of employment. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1951 to 1953. Mr. Kilby was a member of the Lions Club, Noon Optimist Club of Concord and the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County. He greatly enjoyed working in his garden.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sylvia Kilby; two sons, Ralph Thomas “Tom” Kilby, Jr. and wife Tammy of Kannapolis and Timothy Brian Kilby and wife Sissie of Dallas, NC; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kilby of Atlanta, GA and Curtis and Chris Mecaughey of Cramerton, NC; and one brother, Grady Kilby and wife Eleanor of Winston-Salem.
