Ronald Lee Adkins' Obituary
Mr. Ronald Lee Adkins, 78, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Adkins was born October 21, 1942 in Ceredo, WV. He was a son of the late William Herald Adkins and Nellie Marie Patrick Adkins. He graduated from Marshall University and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Darrell Hinnant Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Society of Saint Andrews. Ronald was instrumental in starting and operating Special Olympics Cabarrus County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Adkins; and a nephew, Christopher Adkins.
Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ward Adkins; daughter, Tricia Adkins Douglas of Kannapolis; son, Stephen Dale Adkins of Mooresville; brother, Gary Adkins; three grandchildren, Brandon Lee Douglas, Taylor Lynn Adkins and Katelyn Renee Adkins; and nephews, Mark Adkins and Will Adkins. He is also survived by his Golden Retriever, Duke, whom he dearly loved.
