Velma Beaver Dancy's Obituary
Mrs. Velma Beaver Dancy, 86, of 1011 Pump Station Road, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Big Elm Retirement Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dancy will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at Kannapolis West "A" Street Church of God. The Rev. Sam Crisp, Rev. James Griffin and Rev. Bill Sheeks will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, China Grove.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service Friday.
Mrs. Dancy was born on February 16, 1923, a daughter of the late Larry M. Beaver, Sr. and Deamie Pethel Beaver. A homemaker, she also was the owner and operator of Lakewood Florist for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Kannapolis West "A" Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Glenn Dancy in 1995, and her daughter, Beverly Dancy Jervis.
Survivors include her son, Darrell Dancy and wife Kay of Kannapolis; and two grandchildren, Jill Dancy, Tyler Dancy and wife Alison. Also surviving are two brothers, Larry M. Beaver, Jr. of Columbia, SC and Oscar Beaver of Melbourne, FL; two sisters, Evelyn Smith and Alene Ross, both of Jacksonville, FL.
