Born March 25, 1947, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, he was a son of Margie Peterson Larson of Evansville, MN and the late Reuben Larson. Wayne graduated in 1965 from Evansville High School in Evansville, MN. He went to Minneapolis and worked for Metal Matic until illness forced him to quit work. He joined Rocky River Presbyterian Church and served on committees and ushered. He was active in the church sponsored Scout Troop.
In 1994 he received a heart transplant and fulfilled a long-held ambition to become a truck driver. He was employed by Terminal Trucking of Concord until declining health once again made that impossible.
